जो हो रहा है उस पे कहा कीजिए हुज़ूर!
नफ़रत की आग की तो दवा कीजिए, हुज़ूर!
ऎसा न हो अवाम सड़क पर उतर पड़े
क्या कह रहा अवाम सुना कीजिए हुज़ूर !
माना कि हम ग़रीब हैं, ग़ैरत तो है बची
जूते की नोक पर न रखा कीजिए, हूज़ूर !
दीवार पे लिखी है इबारत पढ़ा करें-
आवाज़ वक़्त की भी सुना कीजिए, हुज़ूर !
पाला बदल बदल के ये ’कुर्सी’ तो बच गई
गिरवी ज़मीर को न रखा कीजिए. हुज़ूर !
चेहरा जो आइने में कभी आ गया नज़र
चेहरा है आप का, न डरा कीजिए हुज़ूर !
’आनन’ तो सरफिरा है कि सच बोलता है वो
दिल पर न उसकी बात लिया कीजिए, हुज़ूर !
